Bicycle for Me

Back in June we got Moses his first bicycle. It's a Strider Bike, or balance bike, so you can stop looking for the pedals. Moses will scoot along on it Flinstone-style until he learns he can commit his weight to the seat and balance for longer periods of time.

In true toddler fashion Moses often confuses his pronouns, substituting 'me' for 'you' in his sentences. For example, instead of "Help me" he would say "help you" or instead of asking "rock me?" it would be "rock you?" But the day we went to go pick up his bicycle there was no confusion whatsoever. It was a "Bicycle for me," he declared over and over.

As you can see, he loves to ride his bike in pajamas, or in his underwear, or even with no underwear at all. And we love to wear our helmet just for fun and especially when we're playing with the salad spinner. You never know when that salad spinner will go out of control, you know.

Here's a peek at one of his first bike rides. And even viewing this video I'm amazed at how much he's grown over these last few months. He's already outgrown the shirt and pants he's wearing and the helmet straps and seat have both required adjusting. (P.S. I think it must be the top hat but Moses thinks that the magnet we have on our fridge of Abraham Lincoln looks like the Cat in the Hat. Just helpful 'interpretation' for the end of the video.)
